Which Therapy Do I need?

When you first start looking for help it can be a really confusing time. So many different therapists, so many different therapys and so many acronyms to learn.

Don’t worry. You don’t need to become a psychology expert to find the right help.

If you choose to work with me it’s because:

You want a highly skilled therapist with skills in many areas that they can tailor to your specific needs.

You want a practical, skills-based therapy and you’re willing to do work in-between sessions.
You know it’s a serious issue and you’re willing to do the work but you’re not afraid to have a giggle and a laugh in sessions and try things out.

You’re willing to let go of perfectionism and work with being “enough”.

I offer three different types of therapy (and do quite often combine them if needed). You might be wondering which therapy would be right for you and your problem.

I would always recommend booking in a completely free initial call so we can discuss this in more detail and I can make a personalised recommendation, but you can read below to find out a little more about each therapy and what it is recommended for.

It is very useful for anxiety disorders such as OCD, social anxiety, panic, excessive worry, phobia and agoraphobia.

It is called an “evidence-based” therapy because there are lots of studies that show CBT is very effective for anxiety.

This process is all about you. And I understand you might be struggling with what to do, or where to turn and if you’re overwhelmed or overthinking then it can be easy to feel confused as to who’s the best person for you.

That’s why I always start with a free connection session. It gives us a chance to see if we can work together and explore whether my services could help you.

It’s so important to find the right therapy with someone you connect with. That’s why there’s no pressure and no commitment, it’s just a chance to see if we click and work out the best type of approach, or combination for your individual needs and situation.

We’ll speak either on the phone or on Zoom, or Skype for around 30-45 minutes. That gives us plenty of time to discuss what’s been happening for you and get started with an action plan.

After we’ve worked out we’re a good fit, and what the best therapy, or combination of therapies is for you we’ll get cracking.

It’s time to put a stop to that feeling of fighting a battle with your own mind, and instead, find the clarity of focus, and enjoy the burst of energy that comes with a refreshed mind. So you can go from covering things up, or sticking a plaster on the problem to understanding it and using practical tools and techniques to get back to enjoying all that you have in your life.

It’s a game changer, honestly. And you’ll go from feeling lost to being confident enough to put yourself out there for new opportunities and enjoying the little things like having a meal or planning a holiday without worrying if you can get through it.

So if you’re ready to feel calmer, more relaxed, more focused and rejuvenated so you can solve life’s problems with more ease then I’d love to work with you. I’m not going to lie and say that this is a cure-all or that I can help where no one else has. I don’t believe that any reputable therapist would ever offer “quick fixes” or make promises but if you are ready to explore the potential of change let’s book a free connection session and discover exactly what you need.
